Talofa and Welcome to the Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health is the lead Government Agency in the Health Sector which provides overall health system leadership and governance. The Ministry of Health is mandated under the Ministry of Health Act 2006 to provide regulatory and monitoring functions for the health sector; strategic planning and policy formulation as well as quality health promotion and primordial prevention functions in response to evidence of growing lifestyle diseases in Samoa. The Ministry of Health is mandated under the Ministry of Health Act 2006 to undertake the following actions;
- To administer or assist the Minister to administer, as the case may require, the legislations set out in the Schedule 1 of the MOH Act 2006.
- To administer any other enactment, subject or matter as may be determined by Cabinet from time to time; and
- To fulfill the responsibilities, functions and duties set out in Schedule 2 of the MOH Act 2006.
